If you're looking for a beautiful summertime location for family photos in Heber, Utah, this spot is one of my favorites.

Located in the stunning Heber Valley, this location has everything I love about Utah summer photography: wide-open scenery, beautiful mountain views, lush greenery, and a peaceful, natural setting that lets your family be the focus of the photographs.

I recently photographed a mini session here, and while there were a few wildflowers sprinkled throughout the location, I want to emphasize that you absolutely do not need the wildflowers for this location to be beautiful.

Even without the flowers, the landscape is stunning.

Why I Love This Heber Utah Photography Location

There are so many beautiful places to photograph families throughout Utah, but there is something especially beautiful about Heber, Utah in the summertime. This location has a natural, open feeling that photographs beautifully. The landscape gives us plenty of room to move around and create a gallery with variety, while the surrounding scenery provides that classic Utah mountain backdrop. It doesn't feel overly manicured or staged. Instead, it has that gorgeous natural Utah landscape that makes family photos feel timeless.

And that's exactly what I love about it.

You Don't Need Wildflowers for This Location to Be Beautiful

One of the reasons I wanted to share this location is because I don't want people to assume it only works when the wildflowers are blooming.

There were a few wildflowers sprinkled throughout the area during this session, which added a beautiful little pop of color. But even if the wildflowers weren't there, I would still recommend this location.

The landscape itself is what makes it special. The mountains, open space, greenery, and natural textures create a beautiful backdrop all on their own.

If you're hoping for wildflowers specifically, I recommend planning your session around the local bloom season. But if you're simply looking for a gorgeous summer family photography location in Heber, you don't need to wait for the perfect field of flowers.

July brings that lush summer feeling, while August and September can offer a slightly different look as the landscape begins transitioning toward fall.
