One of my favorite things about being an Utah family photographer is getting to capture meaningful moments for families during special seasons of life. This recent mini session in Provo Canyon was especially sweet because Lacey booked it as a Father’s Day gift for her boyfriend — and it could not have been more perfect.
We spent the evening together on the beautiful green hillside in Provo Canyon, surrounded by mountain views, soft summer light, and blooming wildflowers. This location is one of my absolute favorites for mini sessions because it offers such a dreamy natural backdrop while still being easy to access for families with little one
Her boyfriend’s little girl completely stole the show. She was full of personality, laughter, and curiosity the entire session. We spent most of our time playing together, exploring the hillside, and capturing genuine moments between them instead of forcing stiff poses. Those are always the photos that end up meaning the most.
Watching the two of them laugh together and interact so naturally was such a sweet reminder of how important it is to document everyday love and connection. Father’s Day photo sessions are such a meaningful gift idea because they freeze these little moments in time — the playful smiles, tiny hand squeezes, and the way children look at the people they love most.
Provo Canyon was the perfect setting for their session. The rolling green hills, scattered rocks, and soft mountain light created such a timeless and relaxed atmosphere. June is especially beautiful here with the fresh green grass and tiny purple wildflowers blooming throughout the hillside.
Mini sessions like this are proof that family photos don’t have to be complicated to be meaningful. Sometimes all you need is a beautiful location, a little space to play, and the people you love most.
If you’ve been thinking about booking family photos in Utah County or gifting a session for someone special, Provo Canyon is such a gorgeous location for capturing natural, joy-filled memories.
